Kawaisou

As a source of inspiration, this series of designs uses the word “pitifulness” to illustrate my childhood experience of being an illness. Which has a similar meaning to Japanese characters,可哀相, and spells as kawaisou. To compensate the uncomfortable side effects caused by medicine, I was given quantities of gifts such as Japanese animation, comics and games. Combining my childhood memories together, my fabric works were woven in white plain yarns with colorful hand-spinning yarns. Filled with woolen stuffing to create shade and shape unevenly, demonstrating the vision of my complex childhood.
